I have a passion for justice, and come on, admit it, you do too.  What's the first thing you said in the sandbox when someone took your plastic shovel?  "It's not fair!"    How many times have you yelled back to the television screen when an attorney tried to rationalize the bad behavior of a murderous husband, a child molester, a corrupt government official?  Haven't there been many times when you insisted on fairness in your own personal life, for yourself, for your kids?
Me too.  That's because a passion for justice is hardwired in each of us.
It's there for a reason.  Evil triumphs when good people remain silent.  The citizens of China, Saudi Arabia, North Korea, and other repressive regimes around the world yearn for our freedom of speech.  I intend to use mine responsibly, to fight for the rights of the powerless against the powerful, to educate myself on the legal issues of our time, to call 'em as I see 'em, and to try to push us a little closer to the Pledge of Allegiance's lofty ideal of "justice for all."  Anything less is unacceptable.
Join me daily on CNN and HLN, where I appear on all the shows to talk about the hot crime and justice stories of the day as CNN Legal Analyst, and on The Early Show (CBS, 7-9 a.m.), where I appear regularly as CBS News Legal Analyst, and at any of my speaking engagements around the country.  Friend me on Facebook and weigh in on my daily posts about crime and justice issues, travel, international issues, food, love, life, you name it.  It's my pleasure to read your posts and emails, and to meet you in person at speaking events.  I learn a great deal from my viewers and truly welcome your opinions and insights, whether you agree or disagree with me.  You have often changed my stubborn little mind with your mastery of the facts and persuasive skills.
We have the right to remain silent, but why would we want to?
